An unforgetable inivitation…
By: Muhammad Sarfraz Abbasi

From past many days it has become a talk of the town that that people of Karachi are receiving phone calls or say it telephonic invitation from the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). PTI has the 16 years long journey of struggle against the political status quo and evils who have made life of the common citizen miserable. The party was in quest of coming into mainstream politics however owing to incapability of present government due to poor governance and devastating corruption people have made up their minds to stand against political mafia and support the PTI which has emerged as the single substitute available with the difference. After a successful gathering in Lahore which was attended by above five hundred thousand people on 30th October, general public, students, electable politicians and people from all walks of the life have started joining the PTI.

PTI has staged dozens of gatherings in past one month and so far a large number of electable politicians who left their status quo parties against the corruption have joined the PTI while many others are either joining the PTI soon or seriously thinking on jumping on the bandwagon. In the meantime, PTI has arranged a gathering in Karachi on 25th December ’11 at Mazar-e-Quaid and Chairman of the PTI claims that the crowed in Karachi will be bigger than crowed seen in Lahore gathering. For this party workers are working on their assignments. Nevertheless, an interesting and incredible activity which PTI has done is not less than a biggest surprise, that various people are receiving recorded message in the voice of Mr. Imran Khan on their phone sets. We all receive different invitations in our lives but this invitation of Mr. Khan will be remembered because of the difference. One of my teachers received a call and shares his experience as by saying this:

“It’s about 7 pm (PST). I received a phone call from Lahore number on my landline and it was Imran Khan’s voice. First I thought someone is joking but then I realized it is Imran Khan speaking but it is a recorded phone call. He was like “Assalam-o-Alaikum kaise hain aap? I said theek hoon after a gap of few seconds he said main Imran Khan bol raha hoon jaisa ke aap ko pata hai main 25 December ko Karachi me 1 jalsa kar raha hoon aap zaroor aaiye ga main zaroori Elaan karoo ga. Allah hafiz”

I wish all the best to the PTI and its leader for the 25th December, 2011 gathering at Mazar-e-Quaid and hope that he will gift the people of Pakistan freedom from corruption, lawlessness and discrimination of all kinds. We believe that Pakistan  can grow faster than any nation on the plant if an equal education system, on merit placements, betterment in the lives of the minorities, free and fast justice system, rule of the law and respect for all of Pakistanis is ensured by the leaders  and so far Imran Khan seems to be the someone who can do this.
